Background & Club Info

Cronkbourne are arguably one of the top cricket clubs on the Isle of Man. They are one of the few clubs  who enjoy their own playing facilities and the only one with their own traditional fully equipped clubhouse. The ground comprises a good size turf cricket table with an adjoining artificial playing strip. Considerable effort and expense continues to be incurred in improving the quality of the turf playing surface and it is hoped the ground will be the focus for the international competition, including the hosting of European Cricket Council  tournaments in 2009 and beyond.

The artificial strip is located on the edge of the grass cricket table is used for minor matches and practice nets.

The Club also enjoys a two lane artificial outdoor nets area which is the best facility of its kind on the Island. Continued development of the ground is ongoing with a view to eventually bringing it up to full international standard.

The club runs teams at various levels and caters for players of all standards and abilities.
The Standard Bank Premiership is the main weekend  competition. In addition a side will be entered in the inaugural Standard Bank Division 2 League for season 2008 which will provide weekend cricket opportunities for a far wider spread of members than was previously possible. All Standard Bank fixtures will be played on Saturdays and Sundays depending upon ground availability.

The Club also will participate in the new 20/21, 20/22 & 20/23 midweek competitions. Matches are played on various evenings with the games commencing at 6.30pm

The club has a thriving junior section with teams in each of the Isle of Man Bank Under 11,Under 13 and Under 15 Junior Leagues.

In addition the Club has a vibrant Kwik Cricket & Junior Section which meets between 10.00 am to 12.00 am every Saturday morning normally commencing mid-April and running through until  mid-August. These sessions are run by fully qualified English Cricket Board Level 1 and Level 2 coaches.
